The offices of the Naskapi Nation of Kawawachikamach will be closed on Wednesday, September 30, for the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation.
The day is set aside to remember the children who were taken to residential schools, the ones who came home carrying what happened to them, and the ones who never came home at all. It is also Orange Shirt Day. Wearing orange is a way of saying that every child matters and that this community has not forgotten.
What this means
All Naskapi Nation offices are closed for the day on Wednesday, September 30. Normal hours resume Thursday, October 1.
Emergency services remain available.
