About the role
The Gas Bar Attendant keeps the Gas Bar running: serving fuel, ringing up customers, keeping accurate daily records, and making sure the place operates safely and smoothly. It is a customer-facing job, so a respectful, friendly manner goes a long way. The role reports to the Gas Bar Manager.

What we are looking for
Experience
- Experience as a cashier or with a point-of-sale system is an asset
- Experience in customer service, retail, inventory, or gas-bar operations is an asset
- Experience completing cash counts or daily financial reports is an asset
Languages
- Ability to speak Naskapi
- Ability to read, write, and speak English
- Knowledge of French is an asset
Knowledge and abilities
- Good customer-service and communication skills
- Able to operate a cash register, debit or credit terminal, and point-of-sale system
- Able to complete daily reports and administrative records
- Able to follow fuel-handling and safety procedures
- Able to work independently with minimal supervision
- Reliable, punctual, honest, and attentive to detail
- Able to keep customer and account information confidential
What you would do
- Serve gasoline and diesel fuel
- Process cash, debit, credit, account, and authorized purchase transactions
- Maintain accurate transaction and sales records
- Complete daily administrative tasks, work slips, and required reports
- Verify that purchases charged to departmental, customer, employee, or contractor accounts are properly authorized
- Receive, organize, and stock merchandise and operational supplies
- Make sure all safety and preventive measures are respected
- Carry out other related duties assigned by the Gas Bar Coordinator or Department of Public Works management
Working conditions
This position may involve exposure to gasoline, diesel fuel, fuel vapours, vehicle traffic, noise, snow, ice, and changing weather. It may include working independently during certain shifts and handling cash and confidential account information.
