The Department of Public Works has hired Castonguay Company to carry out blasting work needed to develop infrastructure for two new street sections and the buildings adjacent to them on Katimokow and New Mokoush Streets.

This work will cause vibrations. Here is what is happening, and what it means for you.

Monday, September 28 and Tuesday, September 29
Inspection of houses within a 150-meter radius of the work area. Distribution of carbon monoxide detectors.

Tuesday, September 29
Drilling activities begin.

Wednesday, September 30
Blasting activities begin. Two to three blasts per day are planned.

Friday, October 16
Estimated end of the work.

If you live within 150 metres

Your building will be inspected. A specialized firm will inspect buildings within a 150 metre radius of the blasting area. These inspections are only outside the building. Nobody needs to come inside your home.

You will receive a carbon monoxide detector. The community fire department will distribute a detector for each building. You will be given instructions on how to use it and what to do if the alarm goes off. Please follow those instructions, and do not ignore the alarm.
