The ASP Construction Health and Safety on Construction Sites Course wrapped up this week at the new Naskapi Training and Employment Center, with a strong turnout from across the community.
What the course is
The course is a 30-hour mandatory training program required for most workers, supervisors, and managers working on construction sites in Quebec. Anyone who completes it comes out with a card that lets them work on construction sites across the province, here and elsewhere.

How it went
Twenty community members signed up for this year’s session, with great attendance through the week. A few of those who came already held their cards but chose to attend anyway, which says something about how seriously people take staying current on safety.
A big thank you to Michelle Losier for organizing and running the course, and to everyone who showed up ready to learn.

When you can take it next
The course will be offered again next year. If you missed this round, watch for the announcement so you can sign up early.
