The Naskapi Nation of Kawawachikamach is pleased to introduce Pamela Tooma as our new Liaison Officer working with Chiots Nordiques to provide dog-related services in the community.

Pamela will be the primary contact for dog owners regarding vaccinations, neutering services, emergencies, and other support available through upcoming veterinary clinics.

Dog Vaccination Clinic: March 20-23

Save the date for our dog vaccination clinic taking place from March 20 to 23, 2026.

Full details about clinic times and locations will be shared soon.

Documenting Our Dog Population

As part of this initiative, Pamela will be distributing surveys to dog owners to help document the dog population in Kawawachikamach. This simple survey will collect basic information including the dog’s name, age, color, whether they have been neutered or vaccinated, and a photo.

This information will help the Nation better understand our community’s needs and plan future services.

Contact Pamela Tooma

Dog owners can contact Pamela for information about:

  • Vaccinations
  • Neutering services
  • Veterinary emergencies during the clinic
  • Survey completion
  • Any other questions about dog-related services

If you know anyone with dogs, especially elders who may need assistance completing the survey, please help connect them with Pamela so we can ensure everyone has access to these services.
