Naskapi Nation of Kawawachikamach would like to thank everyone who joined us for our Treaty Lunch and Youth Simulation on Friday, October 3 at the Naskapi Community Center.

It was an inspiring afternoon filled with learning, collaboration, and discussion about treaty negotiations and what they mean for our people and future generations.

We especially thank the Gordon Foundation (Michelle and Selma), Chief Louise NattawappioDeputy ChiefMarianne Chescappio, and Julie Mameanskum, as well as Jimmy Sandy Memorial School for allowing students to participate—and of course, the real stars of the day, our students, for their thoughtful engagement and leadership.

We also thank Hydro Québec for their funding support, which made this event possible.

The LCAC National Youth Treaty Simulation will be happening again in Ottawa in February 2026. Keep an eye out for applications, which will be posted soon!

Together, we continue to build understanding, strengthen our voices, and honor our history through learning and action.
