If you are in school this year, or heading back, there is money available to help. ATCO’s Indigenous Education Awards Program is open, and our students are eligible. Applications close October 2, 2026.
What is available
There are three levels, depending on where you are in your studies:
Merit Award, $750
For students completing Grades 10, 11, or 12.
Bridging (Adult Basic Education), $1,000
For students in an upgrading or university preparation program.
Scholarships, $1,800
For students in undergraduate and graduate programs, and in trade, community, or technical college diploma or certificate programs.
Who can apply
- You identify as First Nations, Métis, or Inuit
- You are enrolled full-time in high school, including upgrading, or in an accredited post-secondary institution or training program
It does not matter what you are studying. ATCO says the program is designed to support students who are dedicated to their educational journey, maintain a balanced lifestyle, and serve as positive role models in their communities and schools.

Complete the online application, with the required supporting documents, at:

Incomplete applications, or applications received after the deadline, will not be considered. So give yourself time to gather your documents.
