The Elders Gathering turns thirty this year, and registration is open for our Naskapi Elders. The 30th Elders Gathering runs September 11 to 19 at Matimekush-Lac-John, and our Elders are invited to come and camp.

Who this is for
This registration is for our Naskapi Elders. If you are a Naskapi Elder, this gathering is for you, and we would like you there.
Help your Elder register
You do not have to fill this out alone, and you do not have to fill it out yourself. If you have an Elder in your family, you can fill the form out for them. There is a section on the form for exactly that, where you put your own name, your relationship to them, and your phone number.
Sit down with your mother, your father, your grandparents, your auntie or your uncle, and go through it together. It takes a few minutes. Nobody should miss this gathering because of paperwork.

Whatever you share on the form stays confidential with the Nation.
What to bring
To be comfortable at camp, please bring:
- Tent, big enough for you and your belongings
- Sleeping bag for cool nights
- Mattress, sleeping mat, or foldable mattress
- Pillows
- Wood stove
- Clothing for warm and cold weather
- Towels, for showers and the sweat lodge
- Traditional clothing
- Toiletries
- Toilet and toilet paper
- Kitchenware and dinnerware
- Anything else you need for your stay in your tent
Health and safety
The form has a health and safety section covering allergies, medical history, medications, and any physical restrictions or special needs. That part is optional, and your Elder can tell the coordinator in person instead if they would rather. There is also a consent line for first aid, so our team can help if anything comes up.
