We are seeking skilled Heavy Equipment Operators to join our team. Both women and men are encouraged to apply. Here are the details for the position:
Position Details
- Personnel Required: Three
- Duration: Permanent
- Work Schedule: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday
- Location: Kawawachikamach
- Salary: Based on Salary Scale
Requirements
- Must be reliable and experienced in operating all machinery owned by the Band (Loader, Excavator, Backhoe).
- Must have a valid Class 5 driver’s license.
- Hold a valid CNESST Card.
- Must pass drug screening.
Job Description
Under the direction of the Manager of Uapenuta Garage, responsibilities include:
- Assisting the assigned supervisor as needed.
- Operating heavy equipment (backhoes, bulldozers, loaders, graders) for various construction and related tasks.
- Clearing brush and stumps, building roads for logging and surface mining sites.
- Using pile drivers to support buildings, bridges, or other structures.
- Operating dredging equipment for waterway deepening or earth fill reclamation.
- Paving and surfacing operations for highways and roads.
- Using power shovels to excavate rock, ore, and other materials.
- Loading and unloading cargo with heavy equipment.
- Conducting pre-operational checks and maintenance on equipment.
- Adhering to safety rules and working well in a team.
Application Process
Due Date: Applications must be submitted to the Secretary of the Nation Office by Tuesday, November 12 at 5:00 p.m.. Candidates will be selected by Human Resources in collaboration with the Department of Public Works.
Personnel Policy and Housing Rent Deduction
Selected candidates will adhere to the Department of Public Works Personnel Policy. Additionally, a housing rent deduction release form will need to be signed for rent-related deductions.
