The Naskapi Nation of Kawawachikamach has just received notice from a Mine Surveyor, Mining Operations at TATA Steel Minerals Canada about a controlled blast scheduled to take place at Timmins 3 Pit on Monday, October 21, 2024, at 12:00 PM (Noon).
Important Safety Information:
This blast is part of ongoing mining operations. Please ensure that everyone follows the necessary precautions outlined below, based on the blast radius map:
- Red boundary: 300m Blast Radius (All equipment must be cleared)
- Dashed red boundary: 500m Blast Radius (No personnel allowed)
- Blue boundary: Timmins 3 Pit perimeter

Instructions for Workers and Community Members:
- All personnel must leave the 500m zone by 11:45 AM on Monday.
- All equipment must be cleared from the 300m zone by the same time.
