We need a Floater!

PERSONNEL REQUIRED

One full-time position (5 days/week)

START DATE

January 2024

WORK SCHEDULE

35 hours per week Monday to Friday

(Some evenings and weekend work will be required)

Temporary- six-months

Nation Office, Kawawachikamach

WAGE

As per the Nation’s Salary Scale

REQUIREMENTS

The successful candidate must:

· have excellent communication skills (good listening, good writing skills, public speaking);

· have good reading and writing capabilities: Fluent Naskapi and English, French considered an asset;

· Intermediate computer skills in programs such as MS Word, Excel, and Outlook;

· Ability to maintain confidentiality;

· be at least 18 years of age;

· have a high school diploma (college degree considered an asset);

BACKGROUND

Under the supervision of the Director General Floater jobs require a flexible and adaptable employee who has the qualifications and skills to perform a variety of different job duties. As a floater, your responsibilities include temporarily covering a position, and you typically pick up shifts as needed. You may float between locations or between departments.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

· Cover for various groups when an admin is out sick, on vacation, or on leave.

· Coordinate travel, hotel accommodations, and meetings. Research available options and set up off-site meetings and closing dinners as required.

· Set up and maintain various office files, logs, listings, and manuals.

· Greet clients, ascertain the nature of business, and route visitors to the appropriate person. Set up client meeting facilities as required.

· Assist in scheduling meetings and travel arrangements accordingly.

· Screen telephone calls; message taking; coordinate conference calls. Back up phones for other admin staff.

· Reserve conference rooms, and order catering when necessary.

· Scan and archive files as directed.

· Be a team player, dealing effectively with co-workers and internal clients at all levels.

· Perform related duties as assigned.

· Cover reception desks as needed.

· Undertake any additional task that may be assigned by the Director General.
