From September 22nd to 26th, 2025, students from Jimmy Sandy Memorial School will take part in an unforgettable experience at The Grand Portage Camp in Kawawachikamach. Together, they will build a 2 km trail entirely by hand, learning the value of teamwork, pride, and deep connection to the land.

This initiative, supported by the New Pathways Foundation, is not just about building a trail—it’s about building skills, resilience, and community.

Inauguration & Fox Challenge

📅 Friday, September 26th, 2025
The event will conclude with an official inauguration and the exciting Fox Challenge. Best of all, participation is free for everyone!

Walk the Trail

Following the inauguration, everyone is invited to come walk (or run!) the 2 km trail built by the students. Whether young or old, all participants will have the chance to celebrate this achievement and even earn a medal for completing the trail. It’s a great way to support the youth and enjoy the beauty of the land together.

This camp is a celebration of Naskapi youth, culture, and the spirit of working together for the benefit of the community. Don’t miss the chance to walk the trail they created and join in this inspiring event!
