Tata Steel Minerals Canada is currently hiring a General Helper to work at its mine site near Schefferville, Quebec.
This is a temporary, fixed-term position for a period of three months, with the possibility of extension.
About the Job
The General Helper will work in the Essential Site Services department and be responsible for maintaining clean, organized, and well-stocked shared work areas. This role supports daily operations at the mine site.
The work schedule is a 2-week on, 2-week off rotation, with 12-hour shifts. The mine operates 24 hours a day, year-round.
Main Responsibilities
The General Helper will be responsible for tasks such as:
- Cleaning and sanitizing common areas, including offices, break rooms, and hallways
- Emptying garbage and recycling bins
- Restocking supplies and basic amenities
- Performing light maintenance tasks as needed
- Washing and drying work coveralls for employees
Who Should Apply
Applicants should:
- Have previous cleaning or similar work experience; preferred but not required
- Be able to work independently with little supervision
- Be comfortable working in an industrial environment
- Be available to work 12-hour shifts on a rotating schedule
- Work well with others and be team-oriented
