The Naskapi Nation of Kawawachikamach is announcing an additional round of Nominations and Elections for the Housing Committee and the Naskapi Local Management Board / Community Economic Development Organization (NLMB / CEDO).

According to the official notice, not all vacancies for these committees were included in the November 7 announcement. As a result, two additional vacant seats for the Housing Committee and two additional vacant seats for the NLMB / CEDO must be filled.  

Nominations

Nomination papers will be available at the Nation Office, and community members may submit nominations on:

🕘 Time: 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

📍 Location: Nation Office

Each nominee must be supported in writing by at least three electors of the Naskapi Nation of Kawawachikamach. Nomination papers must be signed and dated by both the nominee and the electors before being submitted to the Presiding Officer.

Positions to be filled:

  • Housing Committee — 2 seats (one female, one male)
  • NLMB / Community Economic Development Organization — 2 seats (one female, one male)

Eligibility requirements are listed in the notice, including:

  • A maximum of one Immediate Family Member may sit on any committee.
  • Elected representatives may sit on no more than two committees at once.

Elections for these positions will take place on:
