The Naskapi Nation invites all community members to join us for an important collaborative mapping session focused on abandoned sites around Kawawachikamach. This gathering will take place on Tuesday; 2nd December 2025, at the NCC, and you are welcome to drop in anytime between 4 pm and 8 pm.
This session is an opportunity for residents to help identify and validate areas across the community where abandoned materials have accumulated, including scrap metal, unused vehicles, industrial debris, and other waste. Your local knowledge is essential. By working together, we can create an accurate inventory that will guide cleanup efforts and future planning.
On the agenda:
- Mapping of known abandoned sites
- Validation of identified locations
- Discussion on next steps for cleanup and restoration
Refreshments and snacks will be available for everyone who attends.
