Calling all Naskapi youth ages 14 to 30!

Have you ever wondered what it’s like to negotiate a treaty? Want to learn more about Naskapi rights, culture, and leadership in a fun, hands-on way? This fall, you’ll have the chance to experience it for yourself.

The Naskapi Youth Treaty Simulation is happening October 3–4, 2025, at the Cultural Site or NCC in Kawawachikamach.

This two-day immersive event is designed to engage, empower, and inspire the next generation of Naskapi leaders. Participants will step into the role of negotiators, work together in teams, and experience what it’s like to make decisions that affect our Nation. Alongside treaty simulations, you’ll connect with Elders and mentors, take part in cultural activities and performances, and learn more about Indigenous rights and governance.

What to Expect:

  • 🍲 Meals provided for all participants
  • 🎭 Cultural activities and performances
  • 🤝 Guidance from Elders, mentors, and peers
  • 📝 Hands-on treaty negotiations and governance exercises

No experience is needed—just bring your voice, your curiosity, and your willingness to learn and work with others.
