The Naskapi Nation of Kawawachikamach is currently looking for a hardworking and dedicated Garbage Truck Driver to join our Department of Public Works team for the summer season.
This full-time seasonal role involves operating municipal garbage trucks to ensure that our community remains clean and safe. From household waste to recycling, you’ll be a crucial part of keeping things running smoothly for everyone in Kawawachikamach and the surrounding region.
🚛 Key Responsibilities:
- Operate garbage and recycling trucks safely and responsibly
- Conduct regular vehicle safety checks
- Follow collection schedules and record pickups
- Maintain cleanliness of equipment
- Wear proper PPE and follow safety procedures
- Support other Public Works duties when needed
👷♂️ Requirements:
- Valid Class 5 driver’s license and CSST card
- Comfortable working outdoors and with heavy equipment
- Bilingualism in English and Naskapi required; French an asset
- Strong sense of responsibility and ability to work independently
