The Naskapi Nation of Kawawachikamach is now accepting applications for two exciting student positions for the 2025 Kawawachikamach Summer Day Camp. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a positive impact in our community while gaining valuable work experience.

Positions Available:

  • Camp Coordinator
  • Camp Assistant

Dates of Employment:
June 10 – August 19, 2025
Full-time (40 hours/week, Monday to Friday)
Evening and weekend work may be required

Location:
Naskapi Community Centre & Naskapi Recreation Facility

Wages:

  • College/CEGEP Students: $22.50/hour
  • University Students: $25.00/hour

Eligibility Requirements:
Applicants must:

  • Be full-time students in a postsecondary institution
  • Be between 18–30 years old
  • Speak Naskapi and English fluently
  • Read and write fluently in English
  • Have experience working with children
  • Be organized, enthusiastic, and motivated
  • Be capable of leading and working with a team, including children with special needs
  • Work closely with the Health Coordinator and Wellness Team
  • Have Standard First Aid certification

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Planning and overseeing daily and weekly camp activities
  • Supervising camp counsellors and ensuring participant safety
  • Coordinating with outside resources and managing camp materials
  • Supporting special events and additional programming

The selected individuals will report to Louisa Pearl Einish, Family and Youth Wellness Coordinator, and work in collaboration with the Naskapi Nation of Kawawachikam and the Naskapi Recreation Facility.
