
We’re hiring! The Naskapi Nation of Kawawachikamach is currently seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented individual to fill a temporary Accounts Payable Assistant position.
📍 Location: Naskapi Nation Office, Kawawachikamach, Quebec
🕒 Schedule: Monday to Friday, 35 hours per week, with the possibility of overtime
💼 Start Date: June 9, 2025
💵 Wage: Based on NNK Salary Scale
Job Summary
As an Accounts Payable Assistant, you’ll work closely with the Accounts Payable Officer to support the Nation’s administrative functions. This includes general bookkeeping and secretarial tasks, vendor communication, invoice entry, and payment processing.
Responsibilities
- Maintain organized and accurate accounts payable files
- Provide timely and accurate payment information to vendors and creditors
- Verify and enter invoices in accordance with purchase orders or contracts
- Process vendor payments
- Maintain up-to-date vendor transaction records
Requirements
- High school diploma required (preference for post-secondary degrees or certificates)
- Administrative experience
- Proficiency with computers
- Strong employment history
- Fluent in English (spoken and written)
- Knowledge of Naskapi and French is an asset
- Ability to work under pressure and within a team
- Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
- Commitment to maintaining confidentiality
