The Iron Ore Company of Canada (IOC) is offering an exciting scholarship opportunity for Naskapi youth who are planning to pursue post-secondary education in Fall 2025.

As part of its ongoing commitment to support Indigenous students, IOC is awarding nine scholarships worth $2,500 CAD each to eligible applicants from recognized Indigenous communities, including the Naskapi Nation of Kawawachikamach.

These scholarships can be renewed annually for up to five years or until the completion of a first degree or diploma.

Eligibility Requirements:

  • You must be a member of the Naskapi Nation of Kawawachikamach.
  • You must be graduating between August 1, 2024, and July 31, 2025.
  • You must be entering your first full-time college or bachelor’s degree program in Fall 2025.
  • Your chosen field of study must relate to Iron Ore Company sectors, such as:
    • Engineering
    • Geology
    • Environmental Health and Safety
    • Human Resources
    • Finance
    • Marketing
    • IT or Communications
    • Business Administration
    • Mechanical/Electrical Maintenance

Applicants must include:

  • Transcripts from the last three terms
  • A 150–200 word personal statement about your interests, goals, and community connection

Selections will be made in collaboration with your community and IOC. If chosen, you’ll receive a confirmation in August and payment by EFT.
