The Naskapi Wellness Center is excited to invite the community to a special celebration on Aboriginal Day, June 21, 2025, with a hands-on Goose Feast event!

This year’s theme, “Grab & Cook for Goose Feast,” is all about learning, sharing, and coming together around the fire. Community members will have the opportunity to learn how to prepare goose—from cleaning to cooking—using traditional methods passed down through generations.

🕙 Time: Opens at 10:00 AM
📍 Location: To Be Announced

What to Bring

While ingredients will be provided, participants must bring their own:

  • Pots and/or pans
  • Cooking utensils
  • Grill for open fire cooking
  • Anything else you might need to prepare your dish

Ingredients Provided:

  • One goose
  • Firewood
  • Rice
  • Oats
  • Water
  • Flour
  • Baking soda

After the food is cooked, we’ll all gather to enjoy a wide variety of delicious dishes together at suppertime. This is more than a cooking event—it’s a celebration of Naskapi culture, teachings, and community spirit.
