Position Summary

The After School Program offers engaging activities after regular school hours, during Pedagogical Days, and holidays. This program ensures a healthy and safe environment for students of all ages.


Job Description

Under the supervision of the Community Centre Manager and Youth Coordinator, the After School Program animators will coordinate and assist with recreational activities.

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Opening and closing the After School Program according to operating hours
  • Creating a weekly activity schedule with the Youth Coordinator
  • Establishing and enforcing program rules
  • Ensuring the safety and well-being of youth participants
  • Facilitating recreational activities
  • Monitoring the use of program equipment
  • Mentoring youth and assisting with homework
  • Preparing and offering healthy snacks
  • Completing weekly reports on activities and attendance
  • Participating in required training and meetings
  • Performing other tasks as assigned by the Community Centre Manager or Youth Coordinator

Requirements

All candidates must:

  • Have completed at least Secondary IV or be a mature applicant
  • Possess valid First Aid Training
  • Be able to supervise at least 20 students
  • Have experience planning and coordinating activities
  • Demonstrate creativity and teamwork
  • Possess strong communication and leadership skills
  • Be a positive role model for youth
  • Have no criminal record

Applications must be submitted to the Secretary of the Nation Office by October 25, 2024, at 5:00 p.m.. Selection will be made by the Human Resources Department in collaboration with the hiring panel.
