Scandium Canada is a junior mining company with several projects, including the Crater Lake Scandium project 200km NE of Schefferville.
Scandium Canada has an opportunity for 2 Geology Apprentices at its Crater Lake project site. The details of the position are available below.

Start Date: As soon as possible
Schedule: 6 days per week, 8 hours per day, for 2 to 3 weeks
Location of Work Crater Lake, Quebec. Scandium Canada will provide helicopter transport from Schefferville and room and board. (Candidates are expected to stay at Crater Lake for 2-3 weeks)
Salary $30/hour (Any time above 40 hours will be at $45/hour)
Role and responsibilities:
- The main responsibility is marking and cutting diamond drill core with an electric saw designed for this pupose. (A qualified and experienced geologist will train the candidates on how to do the tasks required safely)
- Validate the identification of the drilling boxes and the corresponding footage;
- Bag and prepare samples to be sent to the laboratory;
- Lift and handle drill boxes (22kg);
- Verify that the quality control protocol is respected;
- Inform the geology team of any problems in the sampling protocol;
- Make general maintenance of rock saws, sawmills and core shack;
- Handling of core boxes;
- Ensure compliance with established standards;
- Any other related tasks.
The candidate must:
- Be 18 years old or older.
- Be physically able to handle machinery and work in a camp setting
- Be able to take direction.
- Prior experience operating machinery is an asset but not required.
