Traditionally, Naskapi arts and crafts were entirely made of natural elements such as the land, trees, fish and most importantly from the caribou. NSP It is truly amazing what our Naskapi ancestors were able to create with the resources that were available to them. NSP Our ancestors prepared their own hide, sinew, needles, and other tools and materials needed. NSP So much thought, labour and love went into everything they made. NSP

Throughout the years, the Naskapi Nation has supported and funded many crafting workshops for community members. NSP These workshops include learning how to make moccasins, mittens, baby swaddlers, hats and hide preparation. NSP The most recent workshop was in November 2021 where 10 Naskapis participants learned how to weave snowshoes. NSP
