We’re welcoming back Sylvie St-Jean, Vice President of Environment at Torngat Metals, who will be visiting Kawawachikamach from Monday, July 14 to Friday, July 18, 2025. Her visit is an opportunity for community members to ask questions, learn about the latest developments in the Strange Lake Project, and discuss the environmental aspects of the proposed work.

Sylvie will be meeting with Elders, hunters, and land-users to ensure Naskapi perspectives are heard. She will also be available for informal drop-in conversations during her time in the community.

  • Monday, July 14 (Evening): Community Meeting, 7–9 PM at the Naskapi Development Corporation
  • Tuesday, July 15 (Morning): Meeting with Elders – Conservation Plan, NNL Policy, and Caribou Protection Plan
  • Tuesday, July 15 (Afternoon): Meeting with Hunters and Land-users – Project Overview
  • Wednesday, July 16 (Morning): Open-door drop-in session
